"The Gorgeously Green Diet" Chapter Two Review



Chapter two of "The Gorgeously Green Diet" is focused on cleaning. It's about making changes to your diet, making less of a footprint(with garbage) on the earth and balancing out the two by making less of an impact on your wallet.

I think Sophie Uliano is really onto something here... She is not perfect but she strives to be the best person she can be. She has the idea that changing small things in your life will not only make an impact on the earth for our children's children, but for us now. These ideas are focused around things that were done back in the wagon days.

Grow your own fruits and veggies.

Take walks with your dog, your kids, or just by yourself to stay active.

Take the red meat out of your diet....

And lastly, please people stop buying so many processed foods that are contained in all those plastic containers that we throw away and never recycle.

You know one of the things she boasts about is this... AND I agree... If every American used just one grocery tote for each shopping trip, we could save more than 60,000 trees! That is huge people!

Another issue that she touches on is the $5 BILLION dollar a year DIET industry... OK That's $5 BILLION people! Why is it that every time a new diet pill comes on the market, it becomes the new fad? Because Americans have become dependant on a pill to keep them looking good instead of depending on the mind and body. Folks, with a little change, you can become a new person.

A few years ago, I was diagnosed with a Bi-Cuspid Aorta valve. That means that the valve on the top of my heart was split in two. The Dr.s told me that if I was under too much stress, that my heart could split down the middle and I would bleed to death.I was so scared that I made a change almost immediately. I am not sure how any of you feel about "GOD", but I am telling you I don't think I have ever prayed to him so much. I believe that he had his hand in making the changes in my mind for me to change my life around. I have since lost 120 pounds!This book has helped me along the way. For anyone who reads this blog and thinks they can't... I AM HERE to tell you YOU CAN!

Listen, it's not what we eat, but the way we eat it! You can eat wonderful healthy meals without opening a package or box. You can make a meal without a microwave. Folks, I do not own a microwave. It defeats your will to make the change to healthier lifestyle. Everything you do and everything you eat is who you are. If you are fat, then do something about it. If you are dying due to your lifestyle, then change it. I am living proof that you can make the change. Sophie Uliano is one of the most gifted people and I am thankful to her for writing this book. Sometimes, I think it saved my life.
